You can stop an environment's sync by hand, for example while Dynamics 365 is under maintenance, or while you are investigating something and want the data to stop moving.
Pause a sync
- Open Queue Overview for the environment. See The Queue Overview Page.
- Select Pause in the bar at the top of the page.

What pausing does
Pausing stops EaseLog picking up new work for that environment. Audit data continues to accumulate in Dynamics 365 as normal. Nothing is lost. When you resume, EaseLog works through the backlog that built up while it was paused.
Pausing one environment does not affect any other environment.
Resume a sync
Open Queue Overview for the paused environment and select the resume control in the same place as Pause.
Paused never clears on its own
This is the important part. Every other environment state resolves by itself given time. Throttled clears when the limit expires. Waiting for slot clears at the next scheduled slot. Idle starts again on schedule.
Paused does not. It waits for a person.
If an environment has produced no new data for longer than you expect, and its state reads Paused, that is your answer. Somebody paused it and it is waiting to be resumed.
Tip
The longer an environment stays paused, the larger the backlog it works through on resume, and the longer it takes to catch up. If you pause an environment during a maintenance window, resume it as soon as the window closes.
