The grid gives you one line per audit record. Double click that line and EaseLog opens the Audit Details drawer, which gives you the whole story of the record behind it.
Open the drawer
Double click any record in the Log View.

Figure 1. The Audit Details drawer, opened by double clicking a record in the Log View. It shows the record, Changed By, Entity, Changed Date, a copyable Record ID, and the full Record History timeline.
Select Close, or the cross at the top right, to go back to the grid.
What the drawer shows
Record
The record the audit entry belongs to, named at the top of the drawer.
Details
Field Meaning Changed By Who performed the operation. Entity The table the record belongs to. Changed Date When it happened. Record ID The record's GUID, with a control to copy it.Record History
Full audit timeline for this record, who touched it, when, and how.
This is the part that matters. It is not limited to the row you double clicked. It lists every audit entry EaseLog holds for that record, newest first, each showing the operation, the timestamp, and who did it against which entity.
So one double click takes you from a single event to the complete history of the thing that event happened to.
Why this is the fastest route
The Record column is stored encrypted, so you cannot sort or filter by it. See Encrypted Columns and What You Cannot Do With Them.
That makes the drawer the practical way to investigate a record. Instead of hunting for it, narrow the grid by something you can filter on, such as Entity, Changed By or Changed Date, find any one entry for the record, then double click it. Record History does the rest.
Getting the record ID out
Record ID has a copy control beside it. Use it when you want to:
- Paste the ID into Record Forensics on the Security tab.
- Look the record up in Dynamics 365.
- Include the exact identifier in a ticket or a report, rather than a description somebody has to interpret.
Audit Details or Record Forensics
Both give you a record's full timeline. Which you use depends on what you have.
You have Use A record in front of you in the grid Audit Details. Double click it. A record ID from somewhere else Record Forensics on the Security tab.See Record Forensics: Tracing a Single Record.
