Sorting puts the audit records in the order you want to read them, for example oldest first when you are reconstructing a sequence of events.

Sort by a column

1. Select the three dots in the header of the column you want to sort by.
2. Select Sort Ascending or Sort Descending.

One column cannot be sorted

Record is stored encrypted, so EaseLog cannot sort by it. Its column menu offers no sort options, and if you try, the app tells you:

This protects the data rather than limiting the product. See Encrypted Columns and What You Cannot Do With Them for what to do instead.

Sort from the keyboard

Move to a column header and press ENTER to sort by it. Press ENTER again to reverse the direction.

Two related shortcuts work from a column header as well. ALT and DOWN opens the column menu, and CTRL and ENTER opens that column's filter.

Tip

Sorting changes the order you read the records in. It does not change which records are shown. To reduce the number of rows, use a filter instead. See Filtering Records.
