  1. Enter their Name.
  2. Enter their Email Address. The field searches your directory as you type, so you can pick a colleague rather than typing the address in full.
  3. Choose a Role. See Roles and What Each One Can Do.
  4. Assign the environments they should see, from Unassigned Environments. See Giving a User Access to Environments.
  5. Select Invite User.

Two decisions, not one

An invitation carries two separate permissions, and they answer different questions.

The Role decides The environments decide What they can do. What they can see.

Someone can be an Admin with access to one environment. Someone can be a Viewer with access to all of them. The two settings are independent.

The default is the safe one

Role defaults to Viewer, and no environments are assigned until you add them.

That default is deliberate. A new invitation grants the least access, and you widen it on purpose. Take a moment over step 6 rather than assigning everything out of habit, particularly where environments hold sensitive audit data.

After the invitation

The user appears in the list on the Users & Roles page with their Role and Status.

Note

If you cannot select Invite User, a required field is still empty. Name, Email Address and Role all need a value.
